The film was shot in just 17 days. The toilets are part of "The Tokyo Toilet" project, designed by world-renowned architects like Tadao Ando and Shigeru Ban.

The Trivia Nugget: Director Celine Song intentionally kept Greta Lee and Teo Yoo apart to make their first "physical" reunion in decades feel genuine on camera.
The film's story is semi-autobiographical. Celine Song once sat in a bar between her American husband and her Korean childhood sweetheart, acting as a translator for two men who represented two different halves of her life.
